A recent study (by XO Group Inc.) claims that the average wedding last year in the Reno/Tahoe/Sacramento area cost a whopping $28,028. Wow!
Here at the Antique Angel Wedding Chapel we would like to challenge those findings. The average wedding at the Antique Angel costs less than $300. That's right: $300. And for some weddings, that includes the dress and tux! It has been our observation that you don't need to spend a lot of money to have a beautiful wedding, and you certainly don't need to spend a lot to have a happy marriage. We get frustrated when statistics come out like the $28k figure, because it promotes the belief that for a wedding to be nice, it has to be expensive. Or that your ceremony will be less valid if you only spend a few hundred bucks. That is just pure nonsense! The important factors in a wedding, and the foundational pieces of a strong marriage are not white lace trains or twinkling centerpieces. They are love, trust and communication. If both the bride and groom have an abundance of these, a jeans and t-shirt wedding can outshine the glitz and glam of an unloving $28,000 wedding, any day! At the Antique Angel Wedding Chapel we want to give you something special: a beautiful wedding without the usual expense. Spring is here, and that means the Riverwalk is the perfect place to exchange your vows. You bring the love, trust and communication (and the marriage license!)--and we'll take care of the rest. Congratulations to a few of our recent happy couples marrried at the Antique Angel Wedding Chapel in Reno, NV! We feel honored that you let us take part in your special day. Thank you for choosing the Antique Angel Wedding Chapel. Cheers to many happy years together!

Your wedding reception can be the most fulfilling, or the most stressful part of your wedding day. Is it worth it? Let's clear a few things up right away: your reception is not just a way to make your guests get gifts for you. If you go into your reception with gift-getting as your focus, you will find it to be stressful and unfulfilling.
Instead, we encourage brides and grooms to focus on their reception as a time to appreciate their guests. A room full of people will be supporting you and your sweetheart and the committment you're making to one another. These are the people who have helped you as you've grown up. These are the people who will be there for you when you need encouragement down the road. To get the most out of your reception, think of each guest as a gift. Their time and energy and support for you will bring much more satisfaction than anything that may be on your gift table. Should you do a reception? Basic wedding etiquette says that if many of your guests are coming from out of town, do what you can to feed them! There are many ways to simplify a reception so that you can focus on spending time with your new spouse, as well as your guests. You can let the Antique Angel Wedding Chapel take care of the reception planning for you. We take care of the catering, the linens, the centerpieces, the music and more! We have a beautiful reception room, or you may opt for a Reception in a Box and head back to your hotel or to the park! Your guests will be looking forward to spending time with you, congratulating you, on your wedding day. Give the Antique Angel a call to review the possibilities! Let us make your reception a fulfilling and memorable part of your special day! The tradition of having lots of bridesmaids and groomsmen is changing! It is YOUR day, and you don't want anyone taking the attention away from you. Your bridesmaid(s) should be a friend or family member who has always been supportive and encouraging to you. You will want someone you can rely on in the event you forget something in your hotel room, or need a last-minute alteration to your dress!
While it is your special day, it is a good idea to take the feelings of your family into consideration when planning your event. But it is your day! A sister or cousin may be offended that you chose a friend to be your bridesmaid. Instead of calling her your bridesmaid, give her the title of "Personal Assistant." A true friend won't mind the name-change, and your family won't feel the sting. |
